This program is open to Topsham Residents of all ages! Snowsports are a wonderful and fun way for people to take advantage of the mental and physical health benefits of outdoor recreation. Benefits and advantages of ski areas are space, natural outdoor environment, standard gear and long standing slope safety etiquette.

Winter in Maine = Fun in the snow!

Please read the info below thoroughly before registering. Registration will open on 11/1/2024 and close on 12/15/2024 (scroll all the way to the bottom for link to register).

Offering lessons, rentals and tickets at our group rate for the 2025 program season.
 
Lessons are for children ages 7 through 8th grade and minimum of 48 inches tall. Lift tickets and rentals are available for all other children, teens, and adults in Topsham. Children in grade 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult for at least the first two sessions. Children under age 7 or 48 inches are not eligible for lessons, but are welcome with an adult.
 
DATES & TIMES: Friday nights;  Lessons are held 6:00—7:15. Lift tickets are valid from 3:00—8:00 pm.

TICKET PICK-UP: Topsham Parks & Recreation will provide a ticket pick up time to registered participants prior to the start of the program. This will be held at the Topsham Town Office. Details TBD.

RENTAL EQUIPMENT: Please be prepared to provide the height, weight, shoe size and level of skier/rider upon registration.
 
HELMETS: Required by Topsham Parks &  Recreation for every program participant under age 18. You can select to rent a helmet during the registration process if you don't own one. 
 
LESSONS: 1.25 hour lesson from 6:00-7:15 pm. Cones and numbers will be used to denote classes. You will receive this information prior to your first lesson. 
 
SCHOLARSHIPS: Unfortunately we do not have the ability to offer scholarships for the 2025 season.

 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Detailed program information will be sent to registered participants as we get closer to the start date.
  
Registration will open on 11/1/2024 and end on 12/15/2024. Be prepared to register early as space is limited this year and we expect that slots will fill quickly.

Program Details:
  • Age Group: Kids aged 7 & up
  • Program Duration: Eight-week Evening Lesson Program
  • Activities: Skiing or Snowboarding
  • Lesson Schedule:
    • Start Date: Fridays, beginning on 1/10
    • Lesson Time: 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm

       

       

      Registration Deadline: 12/15

Lesson Package Options:

  • 1hr 15min Ski or Snowboard lesson with Lift Ticket
    • Group Price: $256 (transportation not included)
    • Lift Ticket Valid: 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, allowing for skiing before or after the lesson
  • Equipment Rental (Ski or Snowboard)
    • Cost: $200 for the entire Eight-week program
  • Ticket only option (for kids/adults who do not wish to take lessons)
    • Cost: $210 for the entire Eight-week program
Important Information:
    • Before Registering: Please click here to carefully review the Ski and Snowboard Levels of Ability to ensure proper placement in the appropriate lesson group.
    • Level of Ability: Your selection will determine the student’s group for the entire program, and it is crucial to be as accurate as possible.

  • RENTAL SIZING:

    • Upon completion of rental purchase in association with products below

      • Your email receipt will contain a dedicated link for you to enter necessary rental sizing information.

        Rental sizing must be completed by December 1

Inclement Weather, Sick Kids & Refunds
Will classes be held in the snow, rain, or cold weather?
Lessons are often held in inclement weather conditions.

**IN THE EVENT OF A CANCELLATION, PARTICIPANTS WILL NOT BE CALLED INDIVIDUALLY.

If the weather is questionable, please check lostvalleyski.com/cancellations.html to check the status of your lesson.

What if a class is postponed by Lost Valley?
-- Classes, if postponed by Lost Valley, will be made up at the end of the program.
If you or your group elects not to come on a day when Lost Valley is open and lessons are running, there will be no make up day.

What if my child is sick and can’t attend class?
-- Classes cannot be made up due to illness or schedule conflicts.
Because it is important to maintain group structure as a Covid 19 Precaution, we can no longer add a child to an alternate time slot for a make up visit.

What if my child gets hurt or doesn’t want to attend class anymore? Can I get a refund?
-- We will issue refunds in the case of an injury or illness with a doctors note only. If your child does not want to attend classes, we may offer partial credit for the unattended portion of the lesson program. This credit may be used for any other purchases at Lost Valley
